What an incredible restaurant. The owner is an extremely freindly man with a lof of knowledge of the local area and food. Their antipasti are fenomenal and the same goes for their pasta dishes: I personally had Tonelli (a type of fresh spaghetti which resembles chitarrina - the traditional pasta of Abruzzo - with wild asparagus and guanciale (a type of speck which is taken from the cheeks of a pig) topped with fresh parmisan cheese. The restaurant is located on the so called Piana delle Cinque Miglia, a plain mountain area on the Majella massif. The view from outside is simply breathtaking, and it is very close to the ski slopes of Roccaraso (a famous ski resort in Central-South Italy).
The location of the restaurant is amazing! So beautiful! The food and service was also very good. We finished everything quite fast and I couldn't catch photos. But all was quite delicious.
The location is wonderful.
Excellent restaurant, dishes not excessive and very good. Honest account
I was in this restaurant in mid-August and found that the prices were much higher than last year. Also that evening they served me baked potatoes instead of the classic fried ones which were not available. Excellent red wine and desserts. Small portions of the very good first courses. I hope to return and be able to make a positive review.
STARRY PRICES IGNORANT FOOD. the place is warm and welcoming. the service is good but the inexperience of some waiters can be seen. The "quarter of the well" tasting is interesting but nothing exceptional. The maltagliati with white lamb ragù and saffron are very good while the tagliatelle with pecorino fondue, radicchio and crispy bacon are a little less so. The sliced Patanegra pig was a little dry while the baked suckling pig belly was very fatty and almost bothered the mouth. I didn't like the home fries and for dessert the warm chocolate heart is a short and unpresentable slice of dessert that is very ugly to look at but actually pleasant to the palate. the house wine not bad but nothing special. the problem is that WE ATE FOR TWO BUT WE PAID FOR 4. 1 starter for two so, in fact, 2 starters, 3 first courses including a tomato penne for a 3 year old girl, 2 second courses, 2 side dishes, 2 desserts, We paid 134 euros for 2 half-liter jugs. so if there had been 2 of us and we had taken 2 complete dinners, less than the cover charge, we would have paid 67 euros each which, given the place, given the context and given the dishes, seems truly EXCESSIVE to me.
Had dinner for two evenings and the quality is excellent. The only surprise was seeing the menu prices increase from Friday to Saturday....I don't know if the Friday prices returned on Monday. Certainly an appetizer priced at 40 euros on Friday, on Saturday it cost 45.00. The service was a little distracted.
I expected much more. Menu is skimpy and too expensive (truffle guitar €28). Spartan and very cold room despite there being a large pellet stove which however was turned off. Good wine list here too with prices a little high for the location. In the room, masks were not worn by all the workers present
